Bad Newz, produced by Amazon Prime
Movie set to hit screens on July 19th
CBFC has censored three kissing scenes
Bad Newz, produced by Amazon Prime in association with Dharma Productions and Leo Media Collective, is set to hit screens on July 19th. The film stars Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimrii, and Ammy Virk, and has already created a buzz with the hit song “Tauba Tauba” and its intriguing plot element of heteropaternal superfecundation, where two eggs are fertilized in the same cycle.
Despite its comedic narrative, “Bad Newz” is also gaining popularity for its new sultry and intimate song, “Jaanam,” featuring Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimrii in a new light. However, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has censored three kissing scenes, totaling 27 seconds, including one of 9 seconds, 10 seconds and 8 seconds requiring the visuals of the lip-locks to be modified without cutting any frames.
Additionally, the CBFC requested minor changes, such as replacing the opening disclaimer, inserting an anti-alcohol static, and increasing the font size of the anti-alcohol message. Following these modifications, “Bad Newz” was granted a U/A certificate. The film’s runtime is 142 minutes, or 2 hours and 22 minutes.
