“We called to say Michelle (wife) and I couldn’t be prouder to endorse you and to do everything we can to get you through this election and into the Oval Office,” Obama told Harris in the video. Michelle Obama added her support, saying, “I am proud of you. This is going to be historic.”

Harris, visibly moved, responded with gratitude and enthusiasm. “Thank you both. It means so much. And we’re gonna have some fun with this too,” she said, reflecting on their long-standing friendship and her excitement for the campaign.

The Harris campaign confirmed that the video captured the genuine moment of the call, not a reenactment. This endorsement provides a major boost to Harris’s campaign against Republican rival Donald Trump, energizing supporters, donors, and fellow politicians.

Obama, the first Black president of the United States, remains a highly influential figure within the Democratic Party. His support is expected to galvanize Harris's campaign, drawing parallels to his own successful fundraising efforts for Biden.

As Harris’s campaign gains momentum, the endorsement from such a prominent figure underscores the historic nature of her candidacy and the continued evolution of American politics.
