“Puttakkana Makkalu,” one of Kannada television’s most-watched serials, has won acclaim for its ensemble cast and layered storytelling. Every character, not just the protagonist, is given depth and importance. Among them, Hamsa played the role of Rajeshwari (Raji), a character pivotal to the storyline.

Director Aruru Jagadish, in a recent interview, revealed his disappointment over Hamsa's sudden departure from the show to participate in Bigg Boss. According to Jagadish, Hamsa failed to inform the production team about her plans, leaving the storyline disrupted. “She told us she was traveling abroad for a film shoot, only for us to later see her in the Bigg Boss promos. This lack of communication caused immense confusion,” he said. The production team has since lodged a formal complaint with the Karnataka Television Association.

Although Hamsa has now been eliminated from Bigg Boss, her return to “Puttakkana Makkalu,” remains uncertain. Despite being offered another role, her prior commitments reportedly prevent her from rejoining. The abrupt departure of Raji’s character, which had a captivating negative streak, has left fans disappointed.
