With just ten days left for New Year’s Eve, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and Bengaluru Police are preparing to ensure a safe and celebratory atmosphere across the city. Special measures, including medical assistance and safety protocols, are being put in place to manage the large crowds expected at popular spots like MG Road and Koramangala.

BBMP is setting up Arogya kiosks staffed with doctors equipped with first aid kits to provide immediate medical help. Barricades are being erected, and waste disposal mechanisms are being strengthened to maintain order and cleanliness. Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath confirmed that these measures are being implemented under police guidelines to ensure smooth operations.

The city, known for its cosmopolitan culture, witnesses a massive influx of revellers from various regions during New Year’s celebrations. However, the increased footfall has also raised concerns about public safety. In previous years, incidents of misbehaviour, especially towards women, have been reported. To counter this, Bengaluru Police have intensified efforts to monitor hotspots and prevent any untoward incidents.

Both BBMP and the police are committed to ensuring a secure and enjoyable New Year’s Eve, balancing the festive spirit with heightened vigilance to maintain public safety.
