The city has seen a sharp rise in dengue cases, with 550 new infections reported in the past 10 days. This alarming increase has prompted public health officials to intensify efforts to control the spread of the virus, which is transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes.

Girinath's diagnosis underscores the pressing need for heightened awareness and preventive measures among residents. The BBMP has ramped up its vector control initiatives, including fogging, spraying, and public awareness campaigns, to mitigate the outbreak.

Health experts are urging citizens to eliminate stagnant water around their homes, use mosquito repellents, and ensure proper sanitation to curb the spread of dengue. The BBMP continues to monitor the situation closely, aiming to reduce the incidence of dengue and safeguard public health in the city.
