In a move aimed at enhancing public access to green spaces, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has reiterated that all parks within its jurisdiction are to remain open from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. The civic body has urged citizens to report any violations of these hours, ensuring accountability and transparency in park operations.

This directive comes in light of repeated complaints from residents who have found certain parks closed during designated hours or faced unwarranted entry restrictions. BBMP has clarified that no park should deny access during official hours, and strict action will be taken against violators.
To streamline grievance redressal, BBMP has provided multiple reporting channels. Citizens can:
- Call the helpline number 1533,
- Message via WhatsApp at 94806 85700,
- Use the Sahaaya 2.0 mobile app (available on Google Play Store), or
- Email complaints to [email protected] or [email protected].
The initiative is being widely shared on social media under hashtags like #BBMP, #BBMPCares, and #DKShivakumar, with civic leaders encouraging the public to reclaim their right to public spaces.
With growing urban congestion, BBMP’s efforts to keep parks accessible are a welcome step toward promoting health, well-being, and community life in the city.
