The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has announced an open call for private individuals, organizations, and companies to adopt parks, medians, and traffic circles across the city. Currently, BBMP manages 1,280 such public spaces, and this initiative aims to enhance maintenance efforts through community involvement and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.

Under the My Bengaluru-My Contribution and CSR initiatives, the BBMP is inviting interested citizens, companies, and non-governmental organizations to participate in maintaining and developing these green spaces. Details of the adoption policy are available on the official BBMP website.

Several local citizen groups and NGOs have already shown interest in contributing to the upkeep of these spaces, contacting BBMP to discuss partnership opportunities. To streamline these efforts, BBMP has introduced the Community Involvement for Park Conservation Policy (CIPC 2024) under the Namma Bengaluru – Nanna Koduge framework, specifically designed for park and median adoption.

In the program’s first phase, six organizations have already taken charge of various public spaces, and BBMP now seeks additional participants. Interested parties must submit their applications by 5 p.m. on November 15 to the Deputy Director of the Horticulture Department, BBMP Central Office.

For further details, applicants can contact Chandrashekhar, Deputy Director of Horticulture, at 9535015189. BBMP Special Commissioner (APHA division), Preeti Gehlot, encourages community involvement to beautify Bengaluru’s shared spaces.
