BBMP records highest tax revenue of ₹4284 crore, eyes ₹5200 crore by March 2025

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has achieved a significant milestone, earning ₹4284 crore in taxes as of November 30, marking the highest tax revenue in its history. Encouraged by this achievement, BBMP now targets a larger revenue figure of ₹5200 crore by March 2025.

The zonal breakup of the revenue is as follows:

  • Central: ₹36 crore
  • Bommanahalli: ₹418 crore
  • Mahadevapura: ₹1148 crore
  • Yelahanka: ₹408 crore
  • West Zone: ₹710 crore
  • East Zone: ₹483 crore
  • Dasarahalli: ₹136 crore
  • RR Nagar: ₹335 crore
  • South Zone: ₹606 crore

Mahadevapura and Bommanahalli lead in tax collection, contributing significantly to the overall total, while Central and Dasarahalli zones record relatively lower amounts.

BBMP's impressive tax revenue collection reflects the city's growth and the administration’s efficiency in managing the fiscal system. The target of ₹5200 crore by the end of the financial year represents an ambitious plan, with the BBMP likely to focus on enhancing tax collection efforts across various zones.
