At a time when there is a fear of the deteriorating standards of education in Karnataka, reports suggested that the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had given the responsibility of the appointment of teachers to security agencies without any know-how in the field. NewsFirst had brought this to light of the public. The BBMP has supposedly taken stock of the situation and made some changes in its policy.

The BBMP had apparently given the responsibility for the appointment of close to 700 contractual jobs for teachers to a security agency. The Former Minister of Education Suresh Kumar had expressed his disapproval of this development.
