With only 1.6 lakh of the city’s 22 lakh property owners availing e-khatas and another 1.4 lakh applications pending, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is ramping up efforts to boost registrations. To streamline the process, BBMP plans to establish 1,000 kiosks across the city and encourage tech-savvy residents who have already obtained e-khatas to volunteer and assist others.

The initiative aims to simplify documentation and make the process more accessible. People who are familiar with computers and documentation work can volunteer. BBMP will provide the necessary technology and set up kiosks.

Volunteers will be given a BBMP login ID to upload documents directly to BBMP servers. A nominal fee will be charged for the service. The first kiosk is set to be launched in HRBR Layout next week, with the rest expected to become operational soon.

This initiative is part of BBMP’s broader strategy to accelerate e-khata registrations and ensure property owners comply with digital documentation requirements. The civic body hopes that engaging the community in the process will lead to a more efficient and seamless experience for applicants.
