Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) skipper Rajat Patidar has landed in trouble despite leading his team to a thrilling 12-run win over Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has fined the RCB captain ₹12 lakh for maintaining a slow over rate during the high-voltage clash.

The match, held at Mumbai's iconic Wankhede ground, saw RCB post a formidable 221/5 while batting first. In response, the Mumbai Indians put up a strong fight but eventually fell short, managing 209/9 in their 20 overs. Patidar’s leadership and RCB’s bowling unit sealed the victory, marking their third win in four matches this season.

However, the post-match celebrations were dampened by the fine imposed by the match referee, who cited a delay in completing the bowling innings. As per IPL’s code of conduct, captains are penalized for such infractions, with the ₹12 lakh fine being a standard first-offense penalty.

Following their victory, the RCB squad returned to Bengaluru yesterday evening and is scheduled to resume practice later today. The team will next face Delhi Capitals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium tomorrow, aiming to maintain their winning momentum and climb higher on the points table, where they currently stand third.
