The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) is set to develop six residential layouts comprising 50,000 sites along the proposed Peripheral Ring Road (PRR)-2. This ambitious project aims to connect Hosur Road to Bengaluru-Mysuru Road, passing through Bannerghatta and Kanakapura roads.

BDA Commissioner Jayaram N reportedly confirmed the plan, acknowledging high land acquisition costs as a significant challenge. As BDA land acquisition act is not very compensation-friendly, it plans to adopt a public-private partnership (PPP) model to ensure fair compensation for farmers.
BDA officials reportedly stated that approximately 3,000 hectares of government and private land will be acquired for the layouts, although final compensation rates are still under discussion. Farmers contributing land will be compensated in a 40:60 ratio and allotted plots in the same layout per BDA regulations.
Land identification and surveys are underway, led by dedicated acquisition teams. Villages such as BM Kaval, Gulakamale, Kaggalipura, OB Choodanahalli, and others are being considered for acquisition.
PRR-2, one leg of the Bengaluru Business Corridor, includes a 30-km-long, 100-metre-wide road with commercial plots extending 24 metres on either side. Its counterpart, PRR-1, will connect Tumakuru Road to Hosur Road.
The project aims to address high demand for BDA sites while enhancing connectivity in Bengaluru.
