  • Influenza-like Illness can keep you low
  • Doctor suggests not to venture to crowded places
  • However, severity of infections may not be high

Bengaluru residents are grappling with an additional health concern amidst the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Silicon City is witnessing a surge in cases of Influenza-Like Illness (ILI), with more than 100 new cases reported daily. This alarming trend has led Dr Anjanappa, a prominent medical practitioner, to issue a precautionary notice urging citizens to remain vigilant and take necessary measures to safeguard their health.

His recommendations include prioritizing precautions against the COVID-19 virus, exercising caution during festival and New Year celebrations, and maintaining heightened awareness of ILI and Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) cases. The doctor emphasizes the need for close monitoring of individuals experiencing respiratory difficulties, underlining the potential gravity of such symptoms.

Despite the rise in ILI cases, he reassures the public that the severity of infections appears to be relatively low. However, he cautions against unnecessary travel and exposure to crowded places. Particularly, individuals with pre-existing health conditions are advised to exercise extra care.

As Bengaluru navigates through this health challenge, the community is urged to adhere to the outlined precautions to mitigate the spread of respiratory infections and protect public well-being during the upcoming festive season.
