‘Bengalureans have no brains’: Viral rant by Odisha woman triggers backlash in Bengaluru

A recent video shared on social media has triggered massive outrage among Bengalureans after a young woman from Odisha, identified as Neha Biswal, made derogatory comments about the city and its residents. The video, now widely circulated online, shows Neha expressing frustration after a passing vehicle splashed water on her during a heavy downpour in Bengaluru.

Angered by the incident, she went on a verbal tirade, claiming that "Bengalureans have no brains" and referred to the locals as "illiterate," citing that drivers recklessly speed through waterlogged roads even during heavy rain. Her sweeping generalization about the city’s people has drawn strong criticism from local users, many of whom have taken to social media to defend Bengaluru and condemn her statements.

This incident follows a string of recent flashpoints involving outsiders expressing dissatisfaction or behaving inappropriately in Bengaluru.
