Twenty-nine of the Namma Clinics in Bengaluru have been earmarked to operate from noon until 8 pm, as per the directive by Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao.
Despite the announcement made almost two months ago, the clinics are yet to be functional during the extended hours, with plans underway to make them operational soon.
These clinics, currently open from 9 am to 4 pm, were expected to accommodate patients' schedules more effectively, allowing them to visit post their daily commitments.
The BBMP has not received any official communication from the state government regarding the revised timings for these specific clinics, as of early September.
Dr KV Thrilok Chandra, the BBMP Special Commissioner (Health), has confirmed the identification of these 29 clinics, although the timeline for their implementation remains unspecified.
In an earlier statement, BBMP Chief Health Officer AS Balasundar had emphasized the scarcity of healthcare personnel, highlighting the need to double the workforce to ensure the smooth operation of all 243 clinics across the city.
