Bengaluru: 3 arrested for honey trapping retired government employee

40-year-old Annamma, 25-year-old Sneha and 32-year-old Lokesh have been arrested by the Jayanagara police for their involvement in a honey trapping case of a 60-year-old Pensioner. Annamma hails from the Madikeri town in the Kodagu district. Lokesh and Sneha are, however , residents of Bengaluru. 

Annamma approached the old man, through a friend, on the pretext of aid for the treatment of cancer for her son. Initially a sum of Rs 5000 was taken for this purpose. She then began confiding all her problems to him and asking for more money at the same time. Later, she invited him over to an OYO hotel in Electronics City. 

The victim claims that he was pressured into sharing an intimate moment with her. The 2 however met again over the course of a month. Annamma apparently had these moments recorded. Annamma then introduced Sneha to the victim. Sneha too started requesting him for money. At some point when the victim had refused these requests he was blackmailed with having the videos leaked to his relatives and friends. He panicked and surrendered his pension amount to them. Over a period of time, an amount of Rs 82 Lakh was extorted from him. He eventually approached the police who nabbed the culprits. Lokesh, Sneha and Annamma resided in the same quarters in Bommanahalli. Lokesh was also involved in the planning of the events.
