The perpetrators of a robbery that had shocked the entire city by the nature of the sheer brazen manner in which it was carried out have been apprehended. On December 4th the perpetrators entered the house of the owner of a private company Manohar. They were disguised as the police. Upon seeing the police uniform the residents of the house opened the door. They unveiled their weapons as soon as the door was opened. Although the bell was rung by only one person pretending to be a sub inspector, as soon as the door was opened, three others emerged. They stole Rs 60 lakh in cash, 1 kg of gold and even the Mangalsutra (sacred thread) of the Inspector’s wife. Subsequently, a case was filed in the Peenya Police Station in relation to the incident.
A handgun was shown to Manohar’s wife and his child to threaten them. Despite having gotten away the police managed to catch the perpetrators within 3 weeks.
They are currently being interrogated by the police. Details of the night are slowly emerging. One of the accused Nagraj worked as a driver in Manohar’s company. He is believed to have sketched the plan for the robbery.
