7 officials of the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) have been suspended over allegations of corruption. Lakhs of rupees reportedly accumulated through bribes were recovered from their account. The officials would apparently take bribes in order to sanction the leaves of the employees serving under BMTC. This was also allegedly procured in order to allocate the desired route and shift to the employees.
A complaint was filed by an official to the Managing Director (MD) Satyavati regarding this practice. The allegations were reportedly proven during an investigation that was ordered by Satyavati. The suspended officials served in Depot no.27. The suspended officials include Official Supervisor Manjula R, Junior Assistants Pritham, Manoj Kumar L.S, Suma.A and Shashwath, Assistant Accountant Dhananjay V and Assistant Kushala Karmi Devaraj G. The officials would collect the money on their savings account linked to their Phone Pe account. Their suspension order has been released.
