In a shocking incident, it has come to light that 74 instances of foeticide have taken place at a private hospital in Bengaluru’s Nelamangala.

A complaint has been filed in this regard. Close on the heels, the doctors and staff have absconded. District family welfare official Manjunath has filed a complaint.

In 2021 alone, as many as 74 abortions were conducted in the hospital, out of these, there is no information relating to 32 such abortions. The police have issued a notice to the hospital authorities seeking CCTV footage and information on ultrasound surgeries.

When the family welfare officer paid a visit to the hospital, he unearthed a lot of discrepancies. The hospital authorities have failed to provide all the documents that he has sought. The police are investigating the case.
