Presently, Bengaluru follows only Delhi, the capital of the country, in terms of fatalities resulting from accidents. Bengaluru retains its fourth rank in the nation, having recorded a total of 3,822 accidents in 2022, as opposed to 3,213 in the preceding year (when it held the fifth spot). In 2022, 3,189 individuals sustained injuries, in comparison to 2,820 in 2021.

In Bengaluru, 512 accidents took place at T-junctions. On a national scale, 32% of accidents occurred at T-junctions, 17% at four-arm junctions, and 16% at staggered junctions.
Throughout the country, the overall count of accidents on National Highways witnessed a surge of 17.99%, on State Highways by 10.69%, and on Other Roads by 8.23% in 2022.
Similarly, the total number of accident fatalities on National Highways increased by 8.98%, on State Highways by 8.03%, and on Other Roads by 10.73% in 2022.
