Tandava Ram, known for his roles in the serial Jodihakki and the film Lord Who Came to Earth, reportedly fired a single shot at Bharat, the director of the film Mugil Pete and the yet-to-be-completed Devanampriya. Bharat escaped with no injuries, but the altercation has sparked shockwaves in the industry.
According to police, Tandava Ram had given Bharat ₹6 lakh two years ago to direct Devanampriya. However, the project stalled, and Bharat failed to meet deadlines. Frustrated by the delay, Tandava Ram demanded a refund. During the meeting with Bharat and producer Kumaraswamy, tempers flared, leading to Tandava Ram pulling out a pistol and firing.
Bharat immediately filed a complaint at the Chandra Layout police station. A case under the Indian Arms Act has been registered, with additional charges related to attempted murder.
Police seized the pistol used in the incident and arrested Tandava Ram. Investigations are ongoing, and further legal action is expected.
The film industry has been left shaken by this violent outburst, raising questions about professionalism and conflict resolution within the creative sector.
