Bengaluru: Address confusion sparks assault; delivery boy hits customer in Basaveshwar Nagar

A heated altercation over a delivery address turned violent in Bengaluru’s Basaveshwar Nagar, where a Zepto delivery boy allegedly assaulted a customer. The incident occurred on May 21 and has been captured on CCTV footage.

According to reports, the customer, Shashank’s wife, had placed an order on Zepto. When the delivery arrived and she went to receive it, a dispute broke out. The delivery boy, identified as Vishnuvardhan, reportedly claimed that the customer had provided an incorrect address, leading to a verbal argument.

The argument escalated, and Vishnuvardhan allegedly attacked the customer. Witnesses stated that he punched the customer near the eye, causing a cut under the eye socket. The assault was so severe that it resulted in a visible injury.

Following the incident, the customer approached the Basaveshwar Nagar police station and filed a formal complaint. Authorities have registered a case and are investigating the matter. The CCTV footage is expected to play a key role in the probe.

Zepto has yet to release an official statement on the incident.
