Gowda, who operated under the alias Navyashree, had posed as the younger sister of Congress leader DK Suresh to gain trust and credibility. In a complex scheme, she was assisted by actor Dharmendra, who impersonated Suresh’s voice to deceive and trap unsuspecting victims. Gowda’s criminal history includes similar offenses in Mandya, where she often managed to resolve cases just before an FIR could be filed.

After moving to Bengaluru, Gowda embraced a lavish lifestyle, living in luxurious homes, wearing expensive jewelry, and traveling in high-end cars. She even organized an Annamma Devi festival, spending crores and inviting influential figures like former minister Vinay Kulkarni, further bolstering her high-profile image.

Her downfall came when she tried to con Vanitha by claiming to be DK Suresh’s sister. The fraud was uncovered when Vanitha approached Suresh directly, who denied any connection, prompting Gowda’s arrest.

Authorities are now investigating Gowda’s criminal network, with further revelations expected as the case progresses. Her arrest highlights the need for caution against sophisticated fraud schemes.
