The Bengaluru bandh called by the The Karnataka State Private Vehicles Owners Association had a particularly harsh consequence on those whose flight was bound to arrive in the Kempegowda International Airport on Monday. Even though buses were still running, how they would cover the distance from the bus stops to their homes remained a question that was left unanswered.
Among those who arrived by flight in the Kempegowda International Airport on Monday was former Indian leg spinner Anil Kumble. He too had to be reliant on the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) for his travel. He posted a photo on X, formerly known as Twitter regarding his bus journey. He captioned the photo as “BMTC trip back home today from the airport.” The post had 337,000 impressions, 13,3000 likes and 633 retweets within 3 hours of being posted.

One user remarked, “You are really simple and down to earth sir.”
Another said, “Proud of you sir. If you get down at Anil Kumble Circle, will you tell the conductor “Nan circle hatra nilsi”(Stop near my circle).” A traffic circle near Chinnaswamy stadium was namd after Anil Kumble after he had managed to become the first bowler in International cricket to pick up all 10 wickets in an innings against Pakistan in the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi in 1999.
