Roshini Joseph , a 25-year-old data analyst from Kerala suffered injuries to her right hand and hip when she jumped off a moving autorickshaw in Pai Layout, within the Mahadevapura police jurisdiction.

Roshini, who resides in a nearby paying guest facility in Prashanth Layout near Hope Farm, had hired the autorickshaw from a location near a gym in B Narayanapura, intending to reach Brindavan Layout in Vijinapura.

Upon boarding the autorickshaw, Roshini noticed that the driver was taking an unfamiliar route instead of the usual one, which raised her suspicions.

She promptly requested the driver to stop, but he continued to drive recklessly. Fearing for her safety, she took the drastic step of jumping from the moving vehicle at around 2:45 pm near Pai Layout on ITPL Road, as recounted by Roshini.

There were no other vehicles or pedestrians in sight. After her daring exit from the autorickshaw, the driver sped away. Roshini recalled that the driver, who appeared to be in his late twenties, conversed in Hindi.

In response to a formal complaint, the police examined nearby CCTV footage, but they encountered difficulties in clearly discerning the autorickshaw’s registration number.

A case has been registered against the autorickshaw driver for causing injuries through actions endangering the lives or personal safety of others (IPC 337).
