Bengaluru auto driver wins hearts by returning passenger’s lost gold chain

In a heartwarming act of honesty, Bengaluru auto driver Girish went out of his way to return a lost gold chain to its owner, Chitra. After discovering the chain in his auto rickshaw, Girish set out to locate Chitra’s residence and return the valuable item. Touched by his gesture, Chitra, who heads the Taliru Foundation that trains women in auto driving, shared the story on social media.

In a video post, she introduced Girish and expressed her gratitude, saying, “Meet Girish, the auto driver who searched for me to return my lost chain.” She recalled the surprise of finding him at her door with the chain, adding, “I can’t thank him enough; there are very few auto drivers like him.”

The incident quickly gained traction, with social media users praising Girish’s honesty. ‘Nagara Metered Auto’ further highlighted his effort in a post on X, explaining, “Girish arrived at Chitra’s house after searching for it to return the lost gold chain he found in his auto rickshaw.” The post added that customer phone numbers are typically recorded on Nagara Metered Auto trips to facilitate the return of lost items.
