Former Tribal Welfare Minister of Karnataka B. Nagendra has been arrested from his residence in Bengaluru by the Enforcement Directorate. An inspection of his house was carried out for 2 days.  He is accused of an unauthorised transfer of ₹187 crores rom the Valmiki Development Corporation. Reports indicate that appropriate proof has been collected before the officials proceeded to arrest B. Nagendra. Nagendra and his associates are believed to be in possession of Rs 89 crore out of the total amount appropriated through the scam. 

The Enforcement Directorate conducted raids on the houses of Legislator Basanagouda Daddal from the Indian National Congress (INC) and the former P.A Pampanna Rathod. The raids have thrown light on many intriguing details about Pampanna. Pampanna had won Rs 50 Lakh in the Kannadada Kotyadhipathi show hosted by the late Sandalwood actor Puneeth Rajkumar. This occurred in the year 2012.

At the time when he had participated in the show, Pamapanna was a teacher. He had quit the show not wanting to lose out on his gains, when the question to win Rs 1 crore was posed to him. In the current case pertaining to the alleged illegal transfer of money in the Valmiki Development Corporation, Pampanna is alleged to have gained Rs 30 lakh.
