Bengaluru-based cab driver saved by timely message amidst Wayanad landslide

Heavy rains in Kerala have resulted in a deadly landslide. A Bengaluru-based cab driver was saved by a whisker. Manjunath had gone to Wayanad along with 4 North Indian youngsters of which 2 were women. The 4 of them stayed in a resort during their visit. Manjunath however stopped his car and slept therein midnight. The landslide is reported to have taken place at 1:15 AM. Many of the people in the resort were affected by the landslide. 

The landslide had caused water to flow at a rapid rate. The owner of the car Sachin however received an update. The GPS-enabled car had the facility of automatic messages being relayed to the car’s owner. Sachin called up Manjunath upon receiving the alert. He filled Manjunath with courage and asked him to get in touch with one of his contacts in the region. The message proved to be a life saver for Manjunath.

5 people along with Manjunath had gone to Wayanad. 2 of the people are currently missing. 2 of them are receiving treatment in a hospital. One of the youngsters is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Another young woman is in the emergency ward.
