A resident of Bengaluru who visited the Jog Falls during a tour is now missing. Search operations for the youngster have been underway for 6 days.

24-year-old Anand hails from Gadag. Anand had set up a tea stall in Bengaluru. He had visited the Jog Falls on July 15th. He is reported to have crossed the Seethakatte bridge. He may have crossed over the fence to go nearer to the waterfall. He has been missing ever since. His bag has been found but there are no traces of Anand.

A missing complaint was filed at the Kargal Police Station after which search operations were undertaken. The fog and heavy rainfall near the Jog Falls is acting as an impediment to the search operations. Despite intensive search operations, little headway has been made with regard to identifying the current location of Anand.

With large parts of Karnataka experiencing heavy rainfall, relevant advisories were issued to tourists who gather in such locations to witness the beauty of nature around this time. Trekking under these circumstances is not advisable. Arrangements for CCTV surveillance were also made in spots such as Jog Falls. Such incidents are avoidable if precaution is exercised.
