  • BBMP to take precautionary measures to control dengue disease
  • Outdoor surveillance to be taken up in 100 meter surrounding areas of disease
  • Hapless disbursal of garbage at places and dirty water ditches causing dengue

With dengue cases rising in Bengaluru, BBMP has planned to take precautionary measures to control the outbreak of the disease in the city. BBMP will soon hold a meeting in this regard with the health department to devise out strategies for controlling dengue cases. Outdoor surveillance will be taken up in the 100 meter surrounding areas of the spread of disease.

Hapless disbursal of garbage at places and not keeping the surroundings clean and tidy are the key reasons for the development of breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

Like Covid-19 tests, BBMP has planned to do dengue tests to control the spread of dengue disease in the city and state.

With dengue testing kits being available at medical centres, people are carrying out the tests at homes and labs and taking medications for dengue fever. This has made it difficult for BBMP to arrive at the exact number of dengue cases and keep track of them.

Recently, BBMP had made it public that the city is seeing 30 to 40 cases of dengue fever on a daily basis in the city and other districts across Karnataka.

People have to take measures to keep the spread of the disease at bay by keeping their premises clean without having any dirty water ditches in the neighbourhood. Ensure to keep yourself away from mosquito bites.
