Bengaluru: Bill Gates is all praise for postmaster at India Post Payments Bank in city

Bill Gates, in one of his posts on LinkedIn was all praise for Kusuma K, a branch postmaster who works at India Post Payments Bank in Bengaluru.

Gates lauded Kusuma and termed her as “a remarkable woman”. He praised her for being tech-savvy while fulfilling her duties at the India Post payments bank in the city. Besides praising her for using smartphone and biometrics at her work, he also praised other branch postmasters for the same efforts.

Bill Gates who was in India in March 2023 had met people from various walks of life across the country. He had interacted with people like politicians, entrepreneurs, social workers and employees working in public and private sectors.

Post his visit to India, he has been sharing memories from his visit to India on his social media platforms and his website. He has been seen sharing anecdotes, pictures and videos of his recent visit to India.

In one of his recent posts on LinkedIn, he wrote "I met an incredible force for change on my trip to India: Kusuma, a remarkable young woman working wonders at her local postal department."

Further appreciating the country’s efforts on digital banking in India, he said, "India has been a leader in developing digital public infrastructure to accelerate inclusive financial development-enabling branch postmasters, like Kusuma, to use smartphone devices and biometrics to offer banking services to customers across India. She's not just providing integrated financial services; she's delivering hope and financial empowerment to her community."

Gates also posted a video link where Kusuma was seen sharing her thoughts on the influence of digital banking in her community and expressed her satisfaction and pride in fulfilling such responsibilities in this regard.
