Bengaluru: BJP leader and former Minister for Revenue V Srinivas Prasad passes away at age of 76

    He succumbed owing to heart attack at 1:20 AM

    Rituals will be performed in his residence in Jayalakshmipuram

    Srinivas underwent renal transplant 11 years back

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Minister for Revenue and Murzai V Srinivas Prasad passed away at the age of 76. He succumbed owing to a heart attack at 1:20 AM on 29th April. He was admitted to the Manipal Hospital close to the Old Airport Road region of Bengaluru. 

Srivas Prasad’s daughter Prathima Prasad spoke to NewsFirst in light of this unfortunate development. “His health deteriorated of late. The doctors put in their best effort to help him recover. However the efforts did not bear fruit and he is no longer with us,” she said. 

His health is believed to have reached a new low on 22nd April upon which he was admitted to the hospital. He was however discharged upon having shown signs of improvement. However fluctuations were seen soon afterwards after which he was readmitted.

Rituals will be performed in his residence in the Jayalakshmipuram region of Mysuru after which provisions for his followers to pay their final respect will be made. 

Srinivas announced retirement from politics a short while back. He was a diabetes patient and underwent renal transplant 11 years back. Prathima requested people to keep their spirits high as Srinivas would have wished.
