The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) signed an agreement with the German multinational engineering and technology company BOSCH for operationalising a direct walkway access to the Bosch campus in Adugodi from the Lakkasandra Underground Metro Station. “A Connectivity agreement was signed today on 17.11.2023 between BMRCL and M/s Bosch Limited, to provide direct access from concourse level of Lakkasandra Underground Metro Station to Bosch premises through an underground walkway for a period of thirty (30) years,” BMRCL mentioned in a public statement.
The workforce in BOSCH is expected to rise to 25,000 in the next few years. This move would have a positive impact on the traffic in the region surrounding the campus.
BOSCH had offered Rs 50 crore for this project in the month of February. This would include the cost for constructing the walkway and for ensuring direct connectivity. “The infrastructure work will be carried out by BMRCL and the cost will be borne by M/s Bosch Ltd. This is the first such agreement on the Reach 6 Metro Line from Kalena A to Nagawara. The Agreement was signed by Sri Anjum Parwez IAS, Managing Director, BMRCL and Sri Aravind Maiya, Senior General Manager, M/s Bosch Limited in the presence of senior officials of BMRCL and M/s Bosch Ltd,” the statement read.
