The gruesome crime unfolded between May 20 and 21, 2025, when the victim’s body was discovered inside a suitcase near the railway bridge in Old Chandapura. The Suryanagar police have arrested six individuals, including Ashik Kumar (22), Mukesh Rajbanshi (35), Indudevi (32), Rajaram Kumar (18), Pintu Kumar (18), Kaalu Kumar (17), and Raju Kumar (17), all hailing from Bihar.

The investigation reveals a horrifying sequence of events.

Ashik Kumar, employed at a private company in Kachanayakanahalli, lured the minor girl from a neighboring village, Reema Kumari (17), into a trap just two days after arriving in Bihar on May 13. Returning to Bengaluru with her on May 15, he took her on city rounds on May 18. The situation escalated on the third day when a dispute arose over her refusal to comply with his demands. In a fit of rage, Ashik attacked her with a beer bottle and a rod, fracturing her shoulder and strangling her to death. He then confided in his relatives, and together they planned to dispose of the body. Using a cab, they transported the suitcase containing the corpse to the railway bridge, throwing it onto the tracks to mimic a train-related incident.

CCTV footage capturing the suspects transporting the suitcase proved crucial, leading to their arrest in Bihar by Suryacity police. The investigation continues as authorities uncover more details about this heinous crime. The case has reignited debates on women’s safety, drawing parallels to the 2012 Nirbhaya tragedy.
