The Bengaluru Business Corridor (BBC), a key infrastructure initiative aimed at connecting Tumakuru Road with Hosur Road, has secured 100% funding from the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO).
The ₹27,000 crore funding will allow the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) to accelerate the development of this ambitious Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) project, according to news reports.

Spanning 2,560 acres, the 73-km corridor will traverse vital transit points, including Doddaballapur Road, Bellary Road, and Old Madras Road. However, the project has faced setbacks due to delays in securing government land, especially 193 acres that were to be transferred to the BDA at no cost under a 2022 Government Order.
In response, eight new land acquisition officers have been appointed to the BDA, focusing on expediting the process. Additionally, a new BDA office will open in Yelahanka, complemented by three satellite offices across 76 villages to streamline land acquisition and compensation for affected landowners.
To ease accessibility, these satellite offices are located closer to the impacted communities, reducing the need for landowners to travel to the central BDA office. Compensation and acquisition processes are expected to conclude within six months.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the Knowledge, Wellbeing, and Innovation (KWIN) City near Bengaluru, rebranded from its original name, KHIR City. Planned to span 2,000 acres on the Satellite Town Ring Road, KWIN City aims to create an economic hub parallel to Bengaluru, promoting balanced regional development within accessible proximity to the capital.
