Bengaluru: Cab driver sends nudes to woman after being upset at ride cancellation

A mother picking up her child from school had to go through a horrendous experience after having cancelled a cab ride. “I booked the cab as my daughter was not ready to walk. Three minutes after booking it, my baby started crying. On noticing an auto, I cancelled the cab for which I was charged Rs 60,” she recounted as per a report in The Times of India. 

The man was upset at the cancellation as he had travelled 5 km to get to the location. “Before entering the lift I called the driver and apologised for not attending to his calls and explained about the baby. He insisted that I check WhatsApp. He had sent many photos and videos. When I downloaded a photo I found it was of a nude male,” she said. 

 “My neighbours saw me crying, took my phone and scolded the driver. He immediately deleted the messages. He disconnected the call after my neighbours told him they have screenshots of all messages,” she added. 

Electronics City police have taken up a case under IPC section 354A-sexual harassment-and under Information Technology Act. "We have written to the cab aggregator to provide details of the driver. The accused will be nabbed soon,” an officer affirmed
