Bengaluru: Cashier kills friend in fit of rage over being teased for not knowing to count

A competitive spirit in the workplace often leads to behaviour demonstrating one upmanship. However, sometimes the situation can get out of hand. A similar incident has surfaced in the city of Bengaluru.

24-year-old Mallikarjun and 25-year-old Raghunath were cashiers at the RMZ outlet in the Lifestyle mall. RMZ is a clothing store. Mallikarjun would often tease Raghunath for not knowing how to stack up cash and for making errors in calculation. Fights would also often ensue as a result of this. 

On September 27th however, the fight escalated to a point of no return. Raghunath stabbed Mallikarjun with a knife and fled from the spot. Mallikarjun was taken to the nearby hospital but was not responsive to the treatment and passed away. 

Mallikarjun originally hailed from the Ballari district. 

A case was registered in the Yelahanka police station. Raghunath was eventually nabbed by the police. He has currently been placed under arrest.
