A shocking incident wherein a woman was allegedly involved in inhumane acts against her 4-year-old son has come to the forefront from the Girinagar region of Bengaluru.  Along with her boyfriend, she would reportedly abuse the child on a daily basis.

There were several wounds on the boy’s body on account of the abuse. She would apparently lock the boy inside the home before going to work in the morning and would only open the door at night. Financial difficulties are speculated to be the reason for this.

The woman has been identified as Sharin. Sharin is married to Shankar but does not stay with him.

The boy would be fed in the afternoon by one of her friends. The boy supposedly confessed to the woman about being abused by his mother and his uncle. The Child Welfare Committee intervened in this regard and ensured the safety of the boy. The boy has currently been placed in Shishu Mandir. He declined from returning to his mother during counselling. The woman has been served a notice from the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). The police have issued a strong warning to the woman. They also advised her that both parents are needed for any child’s development.
