A 19-year-old college student was found dead at her residence in Bengaluru’s Rajajinagar, reportedly by suicide. The victim, identified as Priyanka, was discovered hanging from her balcony on November 29.

A note left behind accused her college mate, Diganth, of defrauding her of ₹15 lakh worth of gold ornaments. According to the police, Diganth had persuaded Priyanka to hand over the gold under the pretense of investing in casinos. Despite repeated requests, he allegedly failed to return the valuables.

Karnataka Man Loses ₹1.7 Crore in Online Scam

In a separate case, a Karnataka resident fell victim to an elaborate online scam, losing ₹1.7 crore. The fraudsters posed as officials from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

The scam began on November 11 when the victim received a call accusing him of owning a mobile number linked to illegal activities in Mumbai. Believing the imposters, the victim transferred the funds, only to later realize he had been duped. Authorities are investigating the incident.

These cases underscore the growing prevalence of fraud and its tragic consequences, raising concerns over public safety and financial security.
