Bengaluru: Couple ordered Xbox Controller on Amazon, get snake along with it!

In a startling incident, a couple from Bengaluru discovered a snake inside their Amazon package. The IT professionals from Sarjapur had ordered an Xbox controller from the online retail giant. Upon opening the package, they found a snake, believed to be a spectacled cobra, entangled in the adhesive tape used for sealing the box.

The couple, who requested anonymity, recorded the incident, and the video rapidly gained attention online. They noted that the package was handed directly to them by the delivery agent, not left unattended.

An Amazon India spokesperson addressed the issue on Wednesday, saying that the safety of their customers, employees, and associates is a top priority. 

He highlighted the gravity of the situation, pointing out that the spectacled cobra is a highly venomous species native to Karnataka. Luckily, the snake, stuck to the tape, did not cause any harm.

Despite receiving a full refund, the couple raised concerns over what they deemed a severe safety lapse, attributing it to Amazon's inadequate transportation and storage practices. "This is a clear safety breach resulting from Amazon's negligence and poor warehousing and shipping protocols," they asserted.

This incident underscores the necessity for stringent safety measures in package handling and delivery to protect customers.
