Bengaluru: Daali Dhananjay and Shiva Rajkumar share stage with CM Siddaramaiah during BIFFes inauguration

The 90th anniversary of the Sandalwood film industry and the 15th Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFES) was marked with a program in Bengaluru on 29th February. The Karnataka State Government has inaugurated BIFFES in a grand fashion. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah lit a lamp on the grand steps of the Vidhana Sabha to mark the inauguration of the 8-day program. Sandalwood stars Shivaraj Kumar and Daali Dhananjay also participated in the program. “The government has provided assistance for the film festival. To understand life and culture across the world for humanitarian ideals to prevail in society, such events are useful. From 2019, awards have not been given to films. We have formed committees for examining films from every other year. Prizes will be announced on the basis of the report filed by the committees,” Siddarmaiah stated on X.

The “Wild Karnataka” song was performed by the Ricky Kej team and the “Amma Kaveri” song was performed by Ricky Kej and Chaitra. “Art, cinema and sports always keeps people together. Differences pertaining to caste and religion are forgotten while making a film. This is a reason why such programs become important,” Daali Dhananjay said. Shivaraj Kumar pointed out that the fact that Kannada films were included in the 200 films being broadcast indicates that Kannada films have reached international standards. He gave the examples of KGF and Kanatra.
