A bizarre incident unfolded in the Dark Family Restaurant near Rameshwaram which falls in the Doddaballapur taluk in the Bengaluru Rural district of Karnataka. There are nice paintings on the wall of the restaurant and is hence frequented by Instagram addicts.
22-year-old Soorya who is a resident of Kacheripalya was conducting a photoshoot along with 4 of his friends. Some passersby requested Soorya to click a picture of them. Soorya obliged to their request. They later asked him to forward the photos to them on WhatsApp. There seems to have been a delay in this process. This seems to have annoyed the passersby who plucked the camera from Soorya’s hand.
This soon led to a full blown fight. The fight quickly got out of control. Soorya was stabbed with a mini-knife that comes attached with a keychain. He was immediately rushed to a general hospital in Doddaballapur but severe bleeding resulted in his death on the way.
Soorya was a student in an ITI institute. He had visited the spot to rewind with his friends during the weekend. His family members are distraught by this incident. Inspector of the Doddabelavangala police station N.R Harish and other officials visited the site of the tragedy.
