Bengaluru: Delegates from more than 60 countries participate in 5th World Coffee Conference

The 5th World Coffee Conference is being held in Bengaluru from 25th September to 28th September. The conference is being held through a joint collaboration between the International Coffee Organisation (ICO), the Coffee Board of India, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka. It was inaugurated byMinister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Piyush Goyal. 

 “World Coffee Conference-2023 is expected to draw participants from over 80 countries, including more than 2,400 delegates, 117 speakers, 208 exhibitors, over 10,000 visitors, and more than 300 business-to-business meetings,” a statement by K G Jagadeesha, chief executive officer and secretary of the Coffee Board of India mentioned. 

"To make it unique, vibrant and memorable, the board has the active support of 16 coffee committees, with each outfit coming with 25 different stakeholders," the statement added. 

Jagedeesha stated that coffee exports in India amount to more than 1 billion dollars. “As an immediate incremental effect of the WCC, the Coffee Board is expecting an increase in export volume and value growth of 10-15 per cent for our coffees in the international markets,’” he remarked. He emphasised the need for consumer campaigns to create perceptions that have an effect on sales.
