In a shocking incident, a house owner named Divya was killed by her tenant in order to repay the debts she had incurred. The incident occurred in Konasandra which falls under the Kengeri region of Bengaluru on May 10th. The suspect in the case named Monika has been arrested. Monika is 24-years-old.
She worked as a data entry operator in a company for over a year. Monika hails from Kolar. She stayed in Gurumurthy’s house on a rental basis. Gurumurthy is the husband of Divya. Monika showcased her boyfriend as her husband to procure the house.

Monika had a desire to lead a lavish life. This resulted in her accumulating debts. She wanted more money as her boyfriend was in need of a Tata S vehicle. She had her eyes on Divya’s jewellery.
Gurumurthy ran a saloon shop. Divya’s in-laws were also employed. Divya was with her child in her home. Monika entered through the back entrance and strangled Divya to death. She stole her necklace which was made of 36 grams of gold. A case has been registered by the Kengeri Police.
