The Devanahalli toll plaza, located near Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), generated an impressive Rs 308 crore in revenue during the 2023-24 financial year, cementing its position as Karnataka’s top-earning toll plaza. Over the last ten years, the toll plaza has amassed a cumulative revenue of Rs 1,577 crore, as revealed in a recent Rajya Sabha report.

Strategically positioned on NH 44, the main route connecting Bengaluru to KIA, the toll plaza benefits from substantial traffic volumes. Its revenue has consistently grown, with the previous high of Rs 187 crore recorded in 2018-19.
The toll collections are closely tied to the increasing traffic at Kempegowda International Airport, which set new records in 2023-24 by handling 37.53 million passengers and 439,524 metric tonnes of cargo. Of the total passenger count, 32.86 million were domestic travelers, while 4.67 million were international. These figures represent significant growth from the pandemic-hit years, with passenger traffic climbing from 31.91 million in FY23 and 16.29 million in FY22.
The strong revenue performance of the Devanahalli toll plaza underscores the critical role of Bengaluru’s transport infrastructure in supporting the region’s growth. The rising traffic emphasizes the necessity for continued investment to enhance capacity and maintain efficiency on this vital route.
