Bengaluru: Dinesh Gundu Rao inaugurates 3-day campaign for polio vaccination

The National Pulse Polio Vaccination Campaign commenced on 3rd March. The campaign would be conducted over a period of 3 days. Minister of Health & Family Welfare in the Government of Karnataka Dinesh Gundu Rao officially marked the commencement of the program. This was done in a primary healthcare centre in the Gandhinagar constituency. “Inaugurated the Pulse Polio Drive in the Gandhinagar constituency and administered polio drops to children under 5 years of age. Starting today and continuing until March 6, the state-wide Pulse Polio Vaccination drive is underway with the aim of vaccinating 62.85 lakh children under the age of 5. Around 11 lakh children will receive vaccinations in Bengaluru. I urge everyone to ensure that all children under the age of 5 are vaccinated without fail. Let’s join hands to achieve continuous victory against polio,” Dinesh Gundu Rao stated on the microblogging site X (formerly known as Twitter).

National Health Mission Director Naveen Bhat, Special Commissioner for Health & Animal Husbandry in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Vikas Kishore and other officials were present on this occasion. “Our country has been polio-free for 12 years. It is our responsibility to keep it this way,” Dinesh remarked on this occasion
