  • Funds were for construction of RCC Connecting Drains
  • Company named Yoga reportedly received the bills from these funds
  • Activists have questioned the alleged disappearance of files

An accusation that the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials have released Rs 110 crore without doing any developmental work is being made. The complainants have written a letter to the Deputy Chief Minister (DCM) of Karnataka DK Shivakumar.

The funds were supposed to be delegated for the construction of RCC Connecting Drains. A company named Yoga is reported to have received the bills from these funds. This has been accumulated over a period of 3 years. Social activists have said that such transfer is illegal as the work has not yet started. The social activists have affirmed that if action is not initiated by DK Shivakumar, they would approach the Lokayukta over the matter.

The activists have reported that once objections were raised, files pertaining to the project disappeared. The activists have questioned this disappearance as they are generally present in offices. Annually contracts worth Rs 25 crore are given for the construction of RCC Connecting Drains.
