Rapido launched an Auto Plus option for users across Bengaluru

For Rapido Plus, the minimum charge is Rs 71

A High Court order capped the rate charged by aggregators at 10 percent more than the government’s base price

Rapido, an Indian bike taxi aggregator and logistics service provider based in Bangalore launched an Auto Plus option in its application for users across Bengaluru. This was also featured in Hyderabad in the month of September. “Auto Plus service exclusively features top-rated captains in the city and guarantees zero cancellations after booking. The pickup charge is entirely passed on to the captains (drivers),” Rapido mentioned in its application. 

The minimum charge for Rapido Autos is Rs 46. This includes Rs 36 as ride fare and Rs 10 as pickup charge.  However, for Rapido Plus, the minimum charge is Rs 71. The detailed breakdown of this amount has not been provided. 

The minimum fare for autos in Bengaluru is Rs 30. This is applicable for up to 2 kilometres of travel. Additionally Rs 15 is charged per kilometre. A High Court order capped the rate charged by aggregators at 10 percent more than the government’s base price. The charges by Rapido Auto Plus are significantly higher than 10%. This is also applicable to the charges levied by Rapido Auto. It must however be taken into consideration that the charges levied by the aggregators cannot be directly correlated to the fare charges as the journey of the driver from his location to that of the customer is not accounted for.
