A young man's life is at risk due to the alleged negligence of a doctor. Ranjith, a 32-year-old bank employee, went into coma after seeking medical attention for stomach pain. The distressing sight of his educated son in a comatose state brought his father to tears.
Expressing their outrage, the parents have directed their grievances toward the doctors at the Nephro Urology Institute, located at the Victoria Hospital Campus in Bengaluru. They have penned a complaint letter to the Chief Minister and the Health Minister, highlighting the purported negligence of the medical professionals. Prithviraj, Ranjith's father, has formally lodged a complaint against four specific doctors: Dr. Kesavamurthy, Sridhar, Pradeep, and Kishan. Additionally, he has even taken the matter to the VV Puram police station.
Ranjith's medical journey began on September 15, 2022, when he was admitted to the Nephro Urology Institute. Despite being discharged on September 16, 2022, he found himself readmitted on October 12, 2022. The situation took a critical turn when the doctor performed an undisclosed operation on October 17, 2022, without informing the family. It is alleged that Ranjith slipped into a coma following this operation.
Initially, Ranjith sought treatment at a clinic where he was informed about a laser-based kidney stone removal procedure. However, complications arose, leading to a urinary infection. Subsequently, the clinic doctor recommended seeking further treatment at Victoria Hospital. Unfortunately, after a six-hour operation by doctors at Victoria Hospital, Ranjith fell into a coma.
Ranjith is married and has a 2-year-old daughter. His predicament has not only left his family devastated but has also triggered formal complaints against the medical professionals involved in his care. Following NewsFirst reports, concerned minister and officials take action on this issue of medical negligence. As we telecasted it, Medical Education Minister Sharanu Prakash Patil paid a visit to the hospital, got info from the authorities and also ordered a probe into the entire episode.
