The Bengaluru bandh has resulted in conflicts in several parts of the city. In Hebbal, an incident has been reported wherein eggs were thrown at a cab. This has reportedly caused damages to the car seats and the steering wheel of the car. The driver of the car was reportedly upset at this development.
Another incident has surfaced wherein a driver who was spotted with a taxi board was stopped along the way by dissenters participating in the Bengaluru Bandh. He was draped with a shawl. He was even fed Mysore Paks and commemorated with a flower garland. But after this sarcastic display of respect, the dissenters hurled abuses at the driver. They also sarcastically told him that he's doing a commendable job before letting him get back to his car.
Stone pelting has also occurred at cars defying the bandh call. Visuals of tyres of the vehicles breaking curfew being flattened have also been doing rounds on media outlets.
“We submitted a list of 30 demands to the Karnataka Transport minister and were promised that 28 of them would be fulfilled by August 30. However, the government has once again disregarded our needs,” Natraj Sharma, the president of the Federation of Karnataka State Private Transport Association had saidwith regard to the rationale for the bandh as per a report by the Hindustan Times.
